Bowel cancer screening can save lives so do not ignore your invite. Bowel cancer screening is available to everyone aged 54 to 74 years old. A home test kit is sent out to you every 2 years. This kit is called a faecal immunochemical test (FIT). You simply collect a small sample of poo using the kit and send it to a laboratory in the post (postage is free).
Bowel cancer is the 4th most common type of cancer in the UK and is the second highest cancer killer with (48 people die every day from bowel cancer specifically). The sooner bowel cancer is diagnosed; the easier it is to treat and improve the chances of successful treatment.
