A group of volunteer patients, carers and surgery staff who meet regularly to discuss and support the running of the surgery.
Patient Participation Groups look at the services offered, patient experience and how improvements can be made for the benefit of everyone.
Each Patient Participation Group is different, but they all have the aim of making sure that the surgery puts the patient, and improving health, at the heart of everything it does.
Ordnance Unity Centre for Health is keen to recruit more patients for its Patient Participation Group. It comprises volunteer surgery patients who are willing to give up a small amount of their time to work together with the staff and doctors to help them to meet the needs of patients, to improve services and to share an understanding of issues and opportunities.
We hope the group will:
- Provide a channel of communication between practice staff and patients to break down barriers to communication and enable sharing of information
- Help themselves and other patients to take more responsibility for their health
- Provide practical support to the surgery
- Contribute to continuous improvement of services determined by the needs of the community
Join our Patient Participation Group
All registered patients are able to join our Patient Participation Group. People of all genders, ages, ethnicities, and those with health conditions and disabilities are encouraged to join.
